Sybil Anderson
Sybil Anderson is a kind, skilled, and hard-working drum student here at Rock 101, taking drum lessons with Jameson Ray. Sybil has been drumming since first grade and has found drums to be an incredible source of musical expression! Sybil enjoys having Jameson as an instructor because he is really cool and brings such fun energy to his lessons. She loves fast, upbeat music and listens to artists like Imagine Dragons and Boston.
Sybil has shared how exciting and important it is to challenge herself in her drum instruction, especially in her lessons. She has found parts of her curriculum and her work with Jamo motivating, and they help her develop patience. She has found that the best way to navigate challenges is to break things down bit by bit in order to piece together complicated concepts. Sybil believes that Jameson’s encouragement has aided her greatly through challenging learning moments.
Jameson is impressed by Sybil's commitment to drumming and learning! She always shows up with a positive attitude and an open mind. They have tackled a lot of tricky material in their lessons, and she sticks with it no matter what he throws at her! He loves being Sybil’s instructor!
Sybil has interest in using her drum knowledge and passion to form a rock band! She does not know what the future holds in terms of collaborating with other musicians, but she is interested in working in Band League or our other programs here at Rock 101! One thing that really excites Sybil about music is heavier songs. She finds that emotional release in playing an instrument super fun and expressive.
